PRIVACY REDACTOR & EXIF SANITIZER HUD
Blackout or pixelate confidential text, faces, and ID credentials. Exporting re-encodes pixel matrices directly in your browser, completely erasing all GPS, camera, and EXIF metadata.
DROP TARGET IMAGE HERE OR CLICK TO UPLOAD
Supports PNG, JPG, JPEG, WEBP, BMP, SVG. Paste directly from clipboard with Ctrl+V.
Exports re-render image pixels through an unassociated HTML5 canvas surface, stripping all camera signatures, serial numbers, and geographic location stamps.
• Click & drag a rectangle over any sensitive field on the image.
• Use Solid Blackout for absolute redaction.
• Use Pixelate for photos, avatars, or logos.
• Press Ctrl+Z to undo the most recent redaction box.
How to Redact Images & Strip Metadata in 3 Steps
Uploading unredacted drivers licenses, medical bills, bank statements, or receipts to cloud converters exposes sensitive identity identifiers and GPS location data. This tool provides pure client-side raster redaction and EXIF purging directly in your browser.
-
[STEP_01] IMAGE INGEST
Upload or Paste
Drag-and-drop any PNG, JPEG, or WebP document into the canvas viewport, or press
Ctrl+Vto paste directly from your clipboard. -
[STEP_02] BOX REDACTION
Draw Redaction Boxes
Select Solid Blackout for absolute text erasure, or Pixelate for faces and logos. Click and drag over sensitive regions to permanently destroy the underlying pixel matrices.
-
[STEP_03] PURGED EXPORT
Export Sanitized File
Export as a sanitized PNG or JPEG. The browser re-encodes the image from scratch, ensuring all EXIF, GPS coordinates, camera serials, and timestamps are 100% eliminated.
Zero Server Uploads: Local HTML5 Canvas Processing
Unlike online photo editors that transmit your files to remote cloud servers, Privacy Redactor operates entirely in client-side memory through the HTML5 Canvas 2D API. The image data is loaded into local GPU memory, redacted via raster pixel manipulation, and re-encoded using canvas.toBlob(). Zero bytes are transmitted across the internet, guaranteeing zero data leakage for confidential records.
Image Redaction & EXIF Sanitization FAQs
What EXIF metadata is stripped from exported images?
All embedded metadata blocks — including GPS latitude/longitude coordinates, camera make and model, lens serial numbers, exposure timestamps, shutter counts, and software editing history — are stripped because the exported image is freshly encoded from raw canvas pixel buffers.
Can someone undo or reverse the pixelation or blackout?
No. Some flawed PDF editors merely place a black box layer over text that can be highlighted and copied. In contrast, this tool overwrites the raw pixel values directly on the image raster. Once exported, the obscured data is mathematically destroyed and permanently irreversible.
Does this tool compress or reduce image quality?
Exporting as PNG preserves lossless 1:1 image fidelity with zero compression artifacts. Exporting as JPEG applies a high-fidelity 95% quality rating, offering reduced file sizes suitable for email attachments while maintaining crisp text clarity.
