CODEBASE TO LLM CONTEXT PACKER HUD
Flatten entire directory trees into an optimal, structured single prompt context for Claude 3.5, GPT-4o, Gemini 1.5, or local LLMs. 100% in-browser client-side execution.

How to Convert a Codebase into an LLM Prompt in 3 Steps
Modern Large Language Models like Claude 3.5 Sonnet, GPT-4o, and Gemini 1.5 Pro boast massive context windows, but feeding them an entire repository manually is tedious. Codebase Context Packer flattens your files into an airgapped, model-ready format without installing CLI tools or sending your proprietary source code to a 3rd-party server.
-
[STEP_01] DROP REPO
Ingest Directory
Drag-and-drop your project folder directly into the terminal dropzone or click "Select Folder". The browser analyzes nested files recursively via the File System API.
-
[STEP_02] AUTO FILTER
Filter & Prune Junk
Automated heuristics exclude binary assets, lockfiles,
node_modules, and.gittrees. Use the interactive checklist or search bar to toggle specific files. -
[STEP_03] COMPOSE & COPY
Copy Packed Prompt
Inspect live token and character telemetry, then click "Copy Context" or export as
.txt/.md. Paste directly into your LLM chat for instant full-repo reasoning.
Zero Server Uploads, Zero Analytics, Pure Browser Execution
Proprietary intellectual property, API keys, and sensitive business logic must never be uploaded to arbitrary web converters. Codebase to LLM Context Packer executes 100% inside your browser's V8 JavaScript runtime using the HTML5 FileReader interface. No backend server exists; your code never traverses a network wire, and no tokens or prompts are logged, cached, or retained.
Codebase to Prompt Packaging FAQs
How does this tool estimate LLM token counts?
Token estimates are calculated using the industry standard heuristic ratio of approximately 4 characters per token (chars / 4). While exact tokenization varies between OpenAI's tiktoken and Anthropic's BPE, this provides a reliable safety gauge for context window management.
Which files are automatically excluded from the prompt?
Standard dependency directories (node_modules, .git, dist, vendor), lockfiles (package-lock.json, cargo.lock), secrets (.env*), and binary media (.png, .wasm, .zip) are automatically filtered out to preserve your context window.
Is there a limit on repo size or file count?
Because processing occurs in your local browser memory, you can comfortably ingest hundreds of files totaling tens of megabytes. Files exceeding 2MB individually are skipped by default to prevent UI freezing on giant bundled data dumps.
